The darkness is raw.
We struggle and scrape amid dejection.
Once we lived for the world,
But today the world is living because of us.
…………………………………………………………….
The body in motion pauses,
Listening to the hushed sounds.
It spoke of grief within its distance,
All the caskets of souls that were lost.
…………………………………………………………….
The memories of the past creep behind you,
Like a shadow in the dark, you cannot escape.
The sweetness of its taste or the melody of the days,
All swept away by an agonizing plague.
…………………………………………………………
For we do not know the time this will end;
We pray for a better tomorrow – we pray for life,
But it all comes down to when the time is right,
The time of God, not that of man.
